AND life goes on.....

SO this week was really crazy because my comp finished his mission. he was a little trunky but who is not when they have 1 week left on the mission. so during the week we said goodbye to all the families that were in the Branch and got everything packed up!! On Friday the Branch put together a surprise party and my comp was actually surprised. He thought that no one liked him that much to throw a party but they did and he loved it. so because my comp left i had to go to and another city to stay with he other Elders near by. SO guess what...TRIO!! i hate trios but it will only be till Tuesday!! but i am having a good time and ready to start another transfer!!! well that is it of me and i am doing just fine here in SORRISO!!! God Speed!!!

We had a Baptism

HEy!!! now i am back from a crazy week and now i have some time to catch up with you!! last week we had zone conference, two exchanges and a baptism. i would like to tell you about the baptism that we had!! SO there was a guy that was visiting his family here in Sorriso and decides to go to church with his girlfriend over the holiday! we went to church for 3 weeks here and looked liked he just went to go with his girlfriend. We asked if we could visit him and he was a little reluctant but let us go to his house. We taught the 1 lesson but didn't go to well because of kids shouting and dogs messing around. we left his house and i told my comp that he just was curious about the church and doesn't want nothing more. Then we got an interesting call on Saturday morning. it was Rodrigo (who got baptized) and he told us that he prayed and wants to get baptized. it was a shock and he were really happy. we ran to his house and taught him all the lessons on Saturday, did his interview Saturday night and early Sunday morning he was baptized. then during sacrament meeting he was confirmed. It was a great experience for us and he was really grateful for all that we did. he was a guys that didn't want anything to the church, threw away his pride and followed the Savior. What a great mission story to tell when i get home!! So that was my week and hope to have more like it!!! take care.

The life of a zone leader

This week and upcoming days are pretty hectic.  I will be traveling to different areas in my zone and will do exchanges with some other missionary companionship's.  I will be doing some training.  I am getting to know the area I have been transferred to better and it is a nice cozy hometown feel.  Our house is really clean and I can finally walk around barefoot if I want to.  We only had 18 people in church today.  So I had to give a talk.  There is a lot of work ahead of us.  Finding new investigators, and less actives.  The Branch President said something that I have bee thinking of.  "just think of what the lord would think if he returned today on the 1st day of the year. those who are here will be rewarded and the ones will never recognize his face! thank you brothers and sisters for being here and doing whats right!``  We make a choice each and every Sunday wether or not we will attend our church meetings or stay home.  Attend your meetings.  It is here where we learn about our Savior and the love he has for each one of us.  Not much else is going on. I am with the zone today, because we had a meeting.  Happy new year!
