It's the Final Week!!!

SO this past week was a tough one but i am doing better now. The only bump in road is that i got the stomach flu and had to stay in my room for 2 days. Now, some of you may think that that is awesome cause all i got to do was sleep, but it wasn't. i was the two most painful days here. so today was my last time going to the temple in 2 years and i took the temple today to the fullest advantage. I examined the temple video more than ever and i sat in the Celestial Room for 30+ minutes think about all that was on my mind. it will be sad that i wont got to the temple for 2 years but i grateful that when i get home there are temples all around me to go to. i am truly blessed to have the temple in my life and one so close to me at home that i can go to. An hour drive from my house to Chicago is nothing compared to most Brazilians that only get to go once in there lifetime. On this past Sunday for our devotional was watching Meet the Mormons and it was great. well sorry that this week wasn't filled with a lot of action but that will change next week when i am in the Campo!!  I love all you you guys and thank you for the support in these tough times. Something that i learned this week is God is always there for us and at times when you feel alone he is still there. Trials are not to put us down but to build us up so that one day we will privileged  to receive Salvation. Áte proxima semana!!

A week of Ups and Downs!

Hello to all you North Americans!! this week has had its ups and downs but all in all it was good. it has almost been a month here and cant believe how crazy time flies!! This past week we got 2 Brazilian roommates and they were the most humble and enjoyable people i have met here. they left yesterday to RIO and wish them the best of luck. Thursday we got to do something crazy!! we took a bus from the CTM to downtown São Paulo and went tracting. It was an unbelievable experience. the bus ride was a story in it self. the best and easiest way to explain it was like the bus from harry potter. It had super sudden stops and it was filled to the brim. The tracting was great and i gave out 7 Books of Mormon. There was one guy that still has an impact on me to this day. he was reading the bible on a couple of steps at the theater and we went up to him and asked if he would like to hear about the Book of Mormon. He was happy to hear our message and said that he was looking for a book like this his whole life. My heart was full and hope that he calls the missionaries to hear more about the church. The gift of tongues is real and without it I wouldn't be able to give him the message that I had. Today we went to not the São Paulo, but to the CAMPINIS temple. it was amazing and it was so quite and pretty resting on a hill all by it self. the thing that shocked me was that there was so many american temple workers. it kinda felt like we were at home. A little side not for my Uncle James.... the air conditioner unit at the time was made by Carrier!! how cool. well that's about it this week and can wait to email you all aging next week.

Brazil is the greatest!

Hello Everyone back in the USA,
Brazil is the greatest and the people here are so nice and love Americans. This week wasn't that eventful because i am at the CTM. the most exciting part of this week was General Conference. it was probably one of the best general conferences i have seen and that might be because i am a missionary. i wish i can write everything that i loved but it is merely impossible. the top talks though were Elder Christofferson, Elder Hales, and Elder Bendnar. i cannot wait for the conference issue to come out out so i can read such amazing talks. One day here at the CTM it got to like 50 degrees and everyone was going crazy so it was so cold. i loved it and was happy that i got to wear my sweater. went to the temple this morning and love it every time i go. after emailing today i am going out into the city to go shopping and send off some letters that i wrote. well that's about it hear in Brazil for now. i am grateful for all the love and prayers in my behalf and can see the comfort in my life. love you all and i will talk to you all soon.

Greetings Again from Brazil

Today we all got to got to the São Paulo Temple and what an amazing experience it is to go. last P-day we went to the temple and after we get to go walk around the city until dinner. it was fun to go into the various stores and check out the Brazilian culture. On Thursday, we went to the police station to get finger printed and passports
varified. it took 3 hours!! It was a long day. that night it rained here in Brazil and it was so nice because it dropped from 90 degrees to 60. it was in heaven. Sunday was fast and testimony meeting  and it was a really good and different experience. that morning we had a CTM missionary meeting that was about why we are here on a mission. That Sunday night was Sunday night devotional and the mission president of the São Paulo north mission came to speak to us about choosing what kind of missionary's will be. on this past Monday we all had the privilege of watching Elder Scott's funeral. it was a great service and i know that he was a man called of God. yesterdays devotional was a video of the last address that Elder Scott gave at the MTC in Provo.  it was a touching talk and really got alot out of it. well that is about is for me in Brazil. the CTM is the same old thing. i cant wait to be able to go out into the field and teach people the fullness of the gospel. Until we meet again. -Love Elder Browning

Week One

I cant believe that it has been already a week here!! The first couple days were really rough and thought about home too much. The scary thing about that is that i didn't eat anything for three days because i was home sick. but after a whole lot of praying, scripute study and ready my Patriacial Blessing, i know this is the place and thing i got to to. Now i am feeling a lot better and I truly
love the food here. it is so good. i wont write you about my food stories like hunter but ill just say that that we eat a lot of meat!!  Actualy i gained about about 10 pounds.

i know it wont be hard to believe but i was made District Leader for the time that we are at the CTM. Funny comment is that out CTM president reminds me of MR. Waterloo from Monster Inc. Haha.
Today we went to the São Paulo temple and since we had so many people, we had to do 2 sessions. we were the last session so we got to do baptisms and an endowment session. that was rare. that cool thing about the baptisms were that every missionary that was a worker for the baptisms. i got to be a witness becasue i didn't wan to get wet. it was a great experience to be in the house of the lord.

My Portuguese is coming along slowly but i am making progress. there is so many little things to talk about that its just so hard to say but i know i a min the right place with the right people. the spirit is so real and the gift of tongues is truly a gift from god. the last thing that i want to you you with is a
quote from Elder Holland in a video at our devotional last night. He says ´´I know for a fact that the road to Salavation must go through Gethsemane``. i love you so much

Brasil!!!

It was a heartfelt good-bye, see ya in 2, but we all seemed to get through it.

It was comforting to know that he would not be traveling alone.  Elder Arevalo would be on the same flight making his way to the Sao Paulo MTC.  Firm instructions were given to stick together and follow the directions that were given to them in their travel itinerary.  When they arrived in Atlanta before heading to their final destination this is what they found.

"As I walk my son to go serve the Lord in Brazil, this is what I find.  All your sons and daughters ready as well." Thank you to the great mom who took this picture.

He has officially checked in.  Let the work begin.

I am finally here!! After a 9 1/2 hour flight I finally made it. It is so good to be here. It is still so surreal and it feels like we are still in the US. The only difference is that they are crazy drivers and don't care about anyone else on the road. and also the airport in Sao Paulo is so weird but i love it. i meet two kids that I met at the CMT that used to be in the Joliet Stake but moved away a couple years ago. so it is cool talking to the about people we know. The CMT is so cool and super tiny. I already love it here and i know that it is the place that i should be. I cant wait to get out into the field and learn the language. I love you so much and cant wait to write home again. Thanks for everything and say hi to the Boom for me. Ombregado!!
Love,
Elder Browning
